Volleyball Coaches Needed

Parents,

We are in need of volleyball coaches for all of our teams next school year. We are looking for head coaches and assistant coaches. Experience playing and coaching volleyball is an asset, but not required. We are hoping to find enough volunteers to have 2 coaches per team.

Our Jr boys and girls teams play in the COLJHAA League (County) and a few tournaments. They practice twice a week and sometimes have two games a week. With about 3 or 4 tournaments sprinkled in. The majority of the Jr games are all triple ball rules. Our Jr teams are developmental in philosophy and are equal playing time for league games and tournaments. Our Jr teams are made up of a few grade 6s, mostly grade 7s, and a few grade 8s.

Our Sr boys and girls teams play in the LSAA League (City of Lethbridge league). They practice twice a week, and when league starts also have two games every week. They will play in 4 or 5 tournaments. The start of the season is triple ball, with the second half all regular volleyball. Our Sr teams are also developmental, but blended with a competitive philosophy. They are not always equal playing time. Our Sr teams are made up mainly grade 8s, with only a couple grade 7s.

Unfortunately, we can’t take everyone who volunteers to coach. We will try to match up volunteers with whichever team we feel is the best fit, looking at everyone who volunteers and the vacancies we have. We will contact everyone who volunteers by the end of this school year to let you know.
