Author Visit

RIBMS is excited to announce that the Rocky Mountain Book Award Committee has selected our school to host award winning Canadian author Susin Nielsen. We are currently in the process of selecting a date for this much anticipated event. Susin Nielsen is the 2020 winner of the Rocky Mountain Award for her novel ‘No Fixed Address’. Susin has also been a previous Rocky Mountain Award winner for her novel ‘Word Nerd’. Our school library currently has 4 of Susin’s novels and each one is a great read! She never disappoints her readers.
The Rocky Mountain Book is a Reader’s Choice program that stimulates the reading interest of students grades 4-7 and exposes us to a wide variety of Canadian authors and genres. To see the 20 finalists for the 2021 Rocky Mountain Award please have a look at their website. Any students that reads at least 5 of the 20 short listed books is eligible to vote for their favorite book next spring.
