Year-end Ceremonies and Farewell

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening RIBMS Parents and students,

Please accept our apologies for waiting to get this information out to you.  While planning these events, we have been trying to find a balance between following Alberta Health guidelines and keeping some degree of normalcy.  As a staff we wish students could be here, face to face, to receive the recognition they deserve.  We would like nothing more than to send them to their next grade with a hug or a handshake, and see their smiles in person.

Given the current situation, we have decided to deliver our ceremonies via online videos.  Grades five, six, and seven students will have the opportunity to view a video message from their teachers along with a presentation of any awards to deserving recipients.  These videos will be made available for viewing on our website at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 25, 2020.

Grade eight students will have a farewell video ceremony and slideshow presentation.  There will be a few “send-off” messages from staff, along with a portion of the video being dedicated to staff members who are not returning in the fall.  This video will also be made available for viewing at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 25, 2020.

At 1:00 pm that day, eighth-grade students will be asked to participate in a vehicle parade.  Students are encouraged to decorate their cars and dress up as desired.  Our staff will be out on school property to congratulate you in style!  You will notice signs on our lawn with the eighth-grade students' name on it.  These are for you!  After circling the school twice and you have located your sign, a member of your vehicle may run out to get your sign.  The sign will have your certificates and possibly other documents on the back.  Please feel free to place this sign in your own yards with pride!

We understand that this is far from the real thing.  We hope you know how much our staff cares and wishes it could be different for you all.  You have been champions these last few months and we are very proud of each and every one of you!
